This weekend I’m on the trail of foodie market lux. I’ve joined the throng of inner city, trendy souls in their winter scarves heading for Eveleigh markets. The first thing you notice is that these markets are really popular and it’s easy to see why. Eveleigh is a gourmet heaven, farm freshness with lots of personality and a few famous faces thrown in! You can buy the same produce here used by some of our iconic Sydney restaurants. Every seller shows passion for their food and it’s infectious. They’re talking, my mouth is watering, and I’m tossing bits of taste test cheese in my gob and then moving on so I don’t drool on the tasting trays! Oh that cheese is so good on second thoughts I’ll try just a little more..see the full review at http://www.getouthavefun.com/?p=1759
Made a trip to the saturday morning farmers market, which is a short 10 minute walk from the redfern train station.
The main reason of the visit was to have breakfast at Kylie Kwong’s stand, Billy Kwong. Had the steamed pork bun which was just sensational, and dumplings, which were ok but hard to eat as the skins were quite large. Really wanted to try the savory pancakes which looked stunning.
Plenty of other great produce at this market, well worth a visit, even for tourists.
